Department of Laws Panjab University Chandigarh Overview
The Department of Laws at Panjab University, Chandigarh, was established in 1889. It was re-established at Shimla in 1948, shifted to Jalandhar in 1950, and finally relocated to the university campus at Chandigarh in 1959.
The motto of the department is "lead us unto the Light from Darkness." The department provides practical training to LL.B. students.
Practical Training and Moot Court
Every year, students of the department are sent to the Supreme Court of India as part of the practical training program. The department has a separate and well-furnished Moot Court Hall.
Various seminars, presentations, and Moot Court Competitions take place in the hall every year. The department has a proper dress code for boys and girls separately on different days.
