Gujarat Cancer and Research Institute - [GCRI]

GCRI, Ahmedabad, focuses on providing modern cancer care and facilities at reasonable prices to patients from Gujarat and neighbouring states. The Government of Gujarat contributes a major share of the institute's budget.

The institute prioritises full support for patients with curable cancer and optimum support for those with advanced illness. Its mission is to deliver state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic services to cancer patients of all origins and financial backgrounds.

GCRI has treated 99,393 outside patients and 46,672 indoor admissions. This reflects the institute's ongoing commitment to helping patients, especially those who are deprived and impoverished, receive up-to-date treatment and services.

GCRI is dedicated to a scientific approach and humane handling of cancer identification and treatment. The institute encourages curiosity, innovation, and ability in research and its translation into everyday clinical applications.

The analysis wing, known as the Cancer Biology Department, was established in 1979 and is an integral part of the institute. It has state-of-the-art Genomic and Proteomic facilities, with a large group of senior scientists engaged in basic and translational cancer research, with presence in national and international forums acclaimed by their publications.
