The central instrument laboratory (CIL) at SPPSPTM has sophisticated analytical instruments like High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) system, Gas Chromatography (GC) system, High Performance Thin Layer Chromatography (HPTLC) system, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrophotometer (FTIR), Flash Chromatography, UV spectrophotometer, Polarimeter, Colorimeter, etc.

CIL is also equipped with various instruments required in pharmacology like Autoanalyzer, Cell Counter, Digital Elevated Plus Maze, RMS polyrite D, I WORX Data Recorder, ELISA Reader, etc.

Cell culture facility is also a part of CIL that is equipped with CO2 incubator, laminar air flow, etc. which is available for the culture of viruses, monoclonal antibodies and animal cells as well as for in-vitro fertilization experiments.

The instruments in CIL are under the purview of annual maintenance contract and instrument performance verification scheme to regulate and monitor their performance.

SVKM's NMIMS, SPPSPTM has installed a state-of-the-art Liquid Chromatography - Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS/MS), Shimadzu LC-MS 8040 System (Triple Quadrupole coupled with Shimadzu HPLC), which is a sophisticated, hyphenated analytical tool reaching a wide range of applications, from analysis of inorganics to biological macromolecules.

The central facility for Industrial Pharmacy lab was established in 2006 to provide hands-on training of commonly used equipments in pharma industry to undergraduate and post graduate students. The penultimate aim was to carry out collaborative work with industry and establish a healthy industry-academia relationship.

The facility has important equipments like High Pressure Homogenizer, Spray Drier, Rapid Mixer Granulator, Fluid Bed Processor, Extruder Spheronizer, Tablet Compression Machine and Tablet Coater to name a few. The equipments were procured in view of pilot scale batches for industrial projects. This facilitates in carrying out research projects received from various companies.
