SCRIET B.Tech FAQs

Ques. Is SCRIET B.Tech degree valid for GATE and PSU recruitment?

Ans. Yes. SCRIET is a constituent campus of CCS University, Meerut, and its B.Tech degrees are AICTE-approved and affiliated to a UGC-recognised university. This makes graduates eligible to appear for GATE and apply to PSUs that recruit through GATE or direct B.Tech quota. There is no additional recognition requirement specific to SCRIET.

Ques. What is the expected JEE Main cut-off for SCRIET Meerut B.Tech CSE through UPTAC?

Ans. UPTAC cut-offs for SCRIET vary by category and branch. CSE and IT are typically the most competitive branches. For general category candidates, closing ranks in recent UPTAC rounds for CSE at SCRIET have generally ranged between 80,000 and 1,20,000 in JEE Main. Candidates are advised to check official UPTAC seat allotment records for exact branch-wise and category-wise cut-offs before making preferences.

Ques. Is Agricultural Engineering at SCRIET worth choosing for government jobs?

Ans. Agricultural Engineering from a CCS University-affiliated government institution like SCRIET is well-suited for careers in UP state agricultural departments, ICAR research institutes, irrigation and water resource agencies, and rural development bodies. Graduates also qualify for state public service commission technical posts in agriculture. For western UP, where the economy is heavily agrarian, this degree has strong local employer relevance.

Ques. Can candidates from states other than UP get admission at SCRIET Meerut?

Ans. Yes, candidates from other states can apply for SCRIET B.Tech through UPTAC, but state quota seats are reserved for UP-domicile candidates. Out-of-state candidates compete in the All India quota seats. UP-specific scholarships and fee reimbursement schemes are available only to UP-domicile students. Contact the SCRIET admissions office for the current All India quota seat matrix.

Ques. What documents are required for UPTAC seat acceptance and enrolment at SCRIET?

Ans. You will need original Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets and certificates, JEE Main scorecard, UPTAC allotment letter, domicile/residence certificate (for UP state quota), caste certificate if applicable, passport-size photographs, and a migration certificate if from a board other than UP Board. Carry self-attested photocopies of all documents as they are retained during verification.
