DTU MBA FAQs
Ques. What is the selection process for DTU DSM MBA and how is the merit list prepared?
Ans. DTU DSM MBA selection uses a composite merit score. CAT 2025 or MAT 2025/2026 percentile carries 50% weightage. Class 10 and Class 12 board marks each contribute 10%. Personal Interview performance carries 20% weightage. Work experience after graduation carries the final 10%, with marks awarded based on months of experience. Candidates with higher CAT scores are ranked before those with only MAT scores in the same merit list. The process involves online shortlisting followed by an in-person interview at DTU campus.
Ques. Is work experience mandatory for DTU MBA admission and how much does it help?
Ans. Work experience is not mandatory at DTU DSM. Fresh graduates are eligible to apply and are considered in the same merit list as experienced candidates. However, the selection formula awards up to 10 marks for work experience, with 30 to 42 months of post-graduation experience scoring the maximum 10 points. Candidates with 12 to 17 months or more than 60 months score 4 points. Internships and articleships do not count toward this component.
Ques. How does MBA Business Analytics at DTU DSM differ from a general MBA?
Ans. MBA Business Analytics is designed for students who want to combine core management functions with data analysis, statistical modelling, and business intelligence. The curriculum at DSM is oriented toward analytics tools and data-driven decision-making alongside traditional MBA subjects like finance, marketing, and operations. A general MBA tends to have a broader generalist curriculum without the analytics depth. The programme is suited for students targeting roles in data analytics teams, product management at tech companies, or management consulting with a quantitative focus.
Ques. Can final-year undergraduate students apply for DTU MBA admission 2026?
Ans. Yes. Final-year students who have not yet received their degree certificate can apply for DTU MBA 2026 admission. They must have at least 60% marks in aggregate up to the semester or year preceding their final term at the time of application. They are admitted provisionally and must submit their final degree certificate with the required aggregate by a date specified by DSM, failing which provisional admission can be cancelled.
